Summer Vacation

June 25-July 4th, Jordan and I were able to take some time off and we did a family staycation. A week sounds like a lot of time off but it really flew by.

Jordan and I spent our first day with a trip to Wendover for some lunch and gambling.  We had a fun time playing roulette and just spending some time together.

Then Thursday we joined Aunt JaNae, Uncle Nate and baby Nora at the Living Planet Aquarium.

The Aquarium was a big hit.

The next day we took Kail to see his first movie theater movie.  Despicable Me 3.  He was a bit wiggly and we were worried during the previews but as soon as the real movie started, he was perfectly content to sit in my lap and eat his popcorn.  I was so proud!

The next day we spent some time at the Foxboro splash pad. We have tried to take Kail two other times but he just hasn't been interested until now.  Now he LOVES it.

We spent the end of our vacation in Gunnison with family but sadly I didn't get many pictures.

Kail got a new tablet to entertain him on long car rides and has become absolutely obsessed with the movie Moana.  And because we cant stand to watch it for the 50th time he is now using it around the house too. Its just crazy how kids learn how to use these devices.  It took me three nights of playing with it to figure it out.  Kail was turning on his movie by himself in about 20 min.

The Zoo

We took Kail to the Zoo for the first time last weekend with Grandpa and Grandma Mitton.  We had so much fun.  It was a bit cold in the shade at the beginning but Kail was a real trouper and walked pretty much the entire time.

A chicken and her babies were hiding in the bushes.

I have not been to the zoo in a very long time and I was surprised to see how much the exhibits have changed..

Grandpa and Grandma bought us tickets for our fist  train and carousel ride.
Sadly I didn't get any good pictures of the train ride.

It was nice to see the "reptile house" was still there.  I loved this one as a kid, no one ever forgets that smell.

This first picture is for Grandma Max. 😄

By far Kails favorites were the sea lions.  I think he would have stayed here all day.
Grandpa and his fancy camera got better pictures then i did.

The other big hits included the "Bugzilla's".

We had so much fun and can't wait to go back.

Baby Animal Festival

There is a working ranch near our house called the Cross E Ranch, and for the last few years they have done a baby animal festival in the spring.  We decided to take Kail this year and he LOVED it.  I wish I had gotten better pictures.  They had baby pigs, goats, bunnies, chicks, ducks, cows, and puppies.  And then they had bounce house platforms and weirdly some animal feed the kids could play in.  Also some pretty amazing homemade donuts.

We thought we would put Kail on the bounce platform and he might take a few steps before wanting to get off, espeshaly because there were big kids running around. Instead he went nuts and and one point we thought we were going to have to get on ourselves to get him off.

Easter

We had a lot of fun for Easter this year.  Kail did a couple of different egg hunts, and got WAY to much candy.  We tried to prep him for his Day Care egg hunt buy having him hunt for eggs in the kitchen and put them in his bucket the night before.  He loved it.

At Day Care they let the kids find all the eggs and then redistributed them so that everyone got the same amount.  However they had a bit of a problem as Kail decided to redistribute his eggs into the other baskets a couple of times as well as taught the other toddlers that the eggs open and have candy.

Then we headed down to Gunnison for Great Grandma Hatch's fabulous annual egg hunt.  Kail got very spoiled by his grandma's and again got way too much candy.

And then as if this little one didn't get spoiled enough for Easter all ready. Grandpa Larry and Grandma Jackie got him a chair that is just his size.  He likes to sit on it and have us read to him.

They also gave him a wall plaque with his name on it to hang his stuff from and some sidewalk calk.  Its been too rainy to use the caulk yet but Kail sure does want to get it open.

Thank you to everyone for spoiling our little monkey!
