Family

Grandpa and Grandma Pace threw an amazing family reunion.  We all had so much fun.  Mommy does regret that we didn't get a family picture to show how many of us there are and she wishes she had gotten more pictures but we were just having too much fun.

Grandpa and Grandma took us all bowling at the University of Utah.  And we were so excited because this time Kail actually wanted to bowl instead of just run around.

They took us all to the Living Planet Aquarium.  Kail LOVES fish.  He has to go into the "big kids" room at daycare to see the fish every morning so this was a huge treat.

We have never seen the butterflies before, they were a very cool addition.

We also got to go swimming at the neighborhood pool.  And we got to get McDonalds for lunch and play in the play zone. Sadly mommy didn't get pictures of these because she was having too much fun swimming and eating.

And we got to play with all our cousins, and eat A LOT of Popsicles.

The girls made sure to include Kail in their gummy bear pick-nick.  Mommy found them all giggling in the downstairs bedroom.

The adults got to play lots of chess.  Grandpa beat mommy and daddy but mommy did beat her sister Michele.

We got to eat Grandpa's yummy pancakes.  On his first day back to daycare Kail kept asking if I was driving to Grandpa's house.  He wanted pancakes again.

And of course its not a Pace family reunion with out a Royal Loyal Weenie Roast.
Complete with great Grandma Pace.

We had so much fun and can't thank Grandma & Grandpa Pace enough for all they do for us and what a great example they are of what a family should be.

Mommy, Daddy and Kail went to a car show up at Eagle Wood Golf course.  Kail was not interest in the cars, mostly because he is not allowed to touch them, but he WAS allowed to touch the "Water Truck" (its not a Fire truck, it carries water not fire).  And the ambulance and the helicopter.  He was on cloud 9.  I tried to get him to say "Cheese" while touching them, but he just kept saying it TO the vehicle so mommy could not get his face.

Then Uncle Nate, Aunt JaNae and cousin Nora came for a visit.
Kail loved Aunt JaNae reading to him.  and of course we had to make a trip to the splash pad.

And this is just here because its one of the few shots I've gotten of the two of us I actually like.

Funny Little Boy

Kail is growing up so fast, he comes up with new stuff to make us laugh everyday.  So just for the historical record here are the things Kail is up to lately.

He loves to laugh at his own jokes, he thinks he is SO funny. (Just like his Daddy)

We took him to feed some geese, unlike most park geese these ones were very scared and would not get close, but Kail loved feeding them bread.  That day we learned two words "geese" and "bread".

We went to the Cross E Ranch Baby Animal Festival.  The Ducks and chickens were pretty cool but the the water game and the tractor were Kail's favorites.

He tries to copy everything we do, include put his personal pinwheel around Uncle Tyler's grave because that is what Daddy was doing.  If Mom is on the laptop, he will go get his and sit at the table with me.  It reminds me of when I used to pretend to do homework with my big siblings.
Its super cute.

He makes friends easily.  It always makes me smile when no one is at the table when we show up, but he is surrounded by friends within seconds.

Kail loves to go outside.  "Outside" is one of his best words.  We go for walks around the neighborhood at his personal request, he gets upset if we try and cut the walk short.  So much so that he bit Jordan really bad the other day because we cut the walk short.  There is a dog around the corner who is really nice and loves it when we come to visit.  If the class is outside when mom comes to pick him up, Kail would rather stay at school.

In general Kail is a good eater, he is one of those weird kids who actually eats his veggies.
His favorite is red peppers.

He randomly will strike the most grown up poses.
His favorite lately is ether to cross his legs like this or put his hands behind his head and lean back.

He is TALKING.   He seems to be picking up words as fast as we can feed them to him and comes home with new ones everyday. His favorite sentences include:

  1. Help-A-Me?
  2. A Walk Outside?
  3. Love you (followed by Daddy, Mommy or teacher)
  4. Know? (as in I don't know)
  5. No (he is two so this one is obvious)
  6. Me, Mom, Daddy (indicating who something belongs to, I get mom instead of mommy most of the time but Dad is ALWAYS Daddy)
  7. Cars (we have to play with cars now, or there is a car SOMEWHERE in the vicinity)
  8. Truck (He LOVES trucks)
  9. Go?/ GO GO Daddy (where did something go? Or you are not moving fast enough)
  10. BUGS!
  11. Bye (usually followed by, Daddy, Mom, School, House, Bus, Truck, Rock etc).
  12. Egg! (this one came from realizing stuff comes in Easter Eggs)
  13. Thank you
  14. Welcome
  15. Please
  16. Sucker
  17. Cookie
  18. He can name most of the colors now.
  19. 8,9 (means he wants to play hid and go seek)
  20. Meow (means he is a kitty and you need to snuggle him)
  21. A Me (I want to do it)
  22. Water (I need a drink or I want to play in it)
  23. He can name his favorite shows (Cruds - Wings, Babies, Octonauts - yep he says that one)
  24. Wet (obviously something is wet and we need to fix it)
  25. I see (he wants to see something, usually whatever we are doing)
  26. Go around back (this one came up because we have to go around the back of the store because of the busy road, he now also uses it for, I want to go to the store or i'm going to run around the daycare so you can't catch me)

This list could just keep going.  We are so excited because not only is it cute but it is SO much easier to understand what he wants.

Easter 2018

This Easter was spent at home, so Jordan and I worked on setting some new traditions.
First on the new tradition list was painting eggs.  This was probably more for mom then it was for Kail.  But I used to love this tradition as a kid.

Then we joined an Easter Egg hunt at Hatch Park.  It was one of those set up took hours and the hunt lasted 30 seconds.  We were a bit disappointed as when they told us to go, it was the parents who ran to get the eggs and the toddlers just looked around in confusion.  Kail found one egg and stopped to open it so  . . . mom grabed some but we both believe if the other parents had not gone nuts at the buzzer the kids would have had more fun getting the eggs themselves.
Kail's form of explaining that when they say go, you run to get the eggs.

Then it was off to our local grocery store "Easter Egg Hunt" which turns out had no eggs, just prizes, which were at specific stations not hidden, so it was more like trick-or-treating.
The next morning the Easter Bunny, hid eggs outside in our backyard.  We were very lucky the weather was so beautiful the whole weekend.

This is Jet, he is on one of Kails favorite shows Super Wings.

Over all Easter was  hit, we had a great weekend.

Tubes and Adenoids

On March 16, 2018 our poor little one went under anesthesia for the third time. This time was for his second set of tubes and removing his Adenoids.  His first set of tubes began to come out around Thanksgiving and he had ear infection after ear infection and had practically been on antibiotics solid sense then, so we decided it was time to do it again.

Due to the fact that he has done this twice already, we could tell he knew what was about to happen.  We had a few embarrassing moments, for example he refused to wear the hospital gown, So we just let him be naked.  And then the nurse leaned down at one point to talk to him, and Kail slapped her right across the face.  We have also been through this enough times now that we got some funny looks in the waiting room as Jordan and I goofed off together, while all the other parents where anxiously watching the status monitor.  All in all, the surgery was quick and Kail didn't have to stay long afterward.  Unlike last time he did have some healing time.  He would keep rubbing his nose and was more whinny then usual but after about a week he was back to sleeping through the night.  We are crossing our fingers that this is the last time we have to do this.

New Photos

Over the course of Kail's short life, we have ended up with quite a few photo shoots.  Daycare did it again and Jordan and I just can't believe how big he has gotten.
